Survival 101: The Criticality of Water in Human Survival

Stranded on an island, pick one statement to review

If I had one financial statement to review it would be the cash flow statement because since it adjusts for non cash expenses, and adds actual cash expenses like CapEx, which gives you the most important factor of the financial health of the company which is cash flow.

“You can survive without food for three weeks, but only three days without water.”

This statement is important to review because it highlights the importance of water in human survival. When stranded on an island, finding a source of water is the top priority as it allows the body to function properly while providing hydration, regulating body temperature, and aiding in digestion and absorption. Without it, the body will start to shut down after just a few days.

Additionally, this statement brings light to the fact that while food is important for long-term survival, access to water is more critical in the immediate aftermath of being stranded. With this information, you can prioritize your efforts in finding fresh water sources and rationing the available water wisely, ensuring that it lasts as long as possible.
