Smooth muscle tissue is found in the walls of organs and blood vessels, contributing to involuntary movements. Cardiac muscle tissue is found in the heart and allows it to contract and pump blood.

Nervous tissue is involved in the transmission of electrical impulses and coordination of body functions. It is composed of neurons, which are specialized cells that can generate and transmit electrical signals, and supporting cells called glial cells. Nervous tissue forms complex networks that allow the brain, spinal cord, and nerves to receive and process information, and produce responses.

Overall, tissues are fundamental units that allow cells with common functions to work together, forming specialized structures to support the functioning of an organism.
