What is Kinematics?
Kinematics is the branch of Mechanics that deals with the description of motion without considering the forces that cause that motion. In other words, it is the study of motion of objects without considering the cause or the reason for that motion.

What are the different types of motion?
There are three types of motion:
1) Rectilinear Motion – It is the motion of an object along a straight line.
2) Curvilinear Motion – It is the motion of an object along a curved path.
3) Circular Motion – It is the motion of an object in a circular path.

What is displacement?
Displacement is the distance covered by an object in a certain direction. It is vector quantity which means it has a magnitude as well as direction. For example, if an object moves 5 meters to the east, its displacement is 5 meters to the east.

What is Velocity?
Velocity is the measure of the change in position in a given amount of time. It is the rate of change of displacement. Velocity is a vector quantity, meaning that it has both direction and magnitude. Velocity is measured in units of m/s or km/h.

What is Acceleration?
Acceleration is a measure of how quickly the velocity of an object changes. Acceleration is a vector quantity that is measured in units of m/s2 or km/h2. It is calculated as the rate of change of velocity with respect to time. The acceleration of an object can be positive (when the velocity is increasing), negative (when the velocity is decreasing), or zero (when the velocity is constant).

What is the equation of motion?
There are four equations of motion which are used to calculate displacement, velocity, acceleration and time. These equations are as follows:
1) v = u + at
2) s = ut + 1/2at2
3) v2 = u2 + 2as
4) s = (u + v)/2 x t

s = Displacement,
u = Initial velocity,
v = Final velocity,
a = Acceleration,
t = Time.
