Rhombus
A parallelogram with four congruent sides
A rhombus is a quadrilateral with all four sides of equal length and opposite angles that are equal to each other. It is also known as a diamond or a lozenge shape.
Properties of a rhombus:
1. All sides of a rhombus have the same length.
2. The opposite angles of a rhombus are congruent.
3. The diagonals of a rhombus bisect each other.
4. The diagonals of a rhombus are perpendicular to each other.
5. The area of a rhombus can be calculated as half the product of the diagonals. That is, Area = 1/2 (d1 x d2), where d1 and d2 are the lengths of the diagonals.
Some examples of rhombuses include the playing card suit symbol for diamonds, certain road signs, and kite-shaped objects.
