Triangle

A triangle is a polygon with three sides and three angles

A triangle is a polygon with three sides and three angles. It is one of the basic shapes in geometry. Each side of a triangle connects two endpoints called vertices, and each angle is formed by two sides meeting at a vertex. The sum of the three interior angles of a triangle is always 180 degrees. Triangles can be classified based on their side lengths and their angle measures.

Based on side lengths:
1. Equilateral Triangle: All three sides of an equilateral triangle are of equal length.
2. Isosceles Triangle: Two sides of an isosceles triangle are of equal length.
3. Scalene Triangle: All three sides of a scalene triangle have different lengths.

Based on angle measures:
1. Acute Triangle: All three angles of an acute triangle are less than 90 degrees.
2. Right Triangle: One angle of a right triangle is 90 degrees, forming a right angle.
3. Obtuse Triangle: One angle of an obtuse triangle is greater than 90 degrees.

Triangle properties:
1. The sum of any two sides of a triangle is always greater than the length of the third side.
2. The longest side of a triangle is opposite the largest angle, and the shortest side is opposite the smallest angle.
3. If two sides of a triangle are equal in length, then the angles opposite those sides are also equal.
4. The perpendicular distance from any vertex of a triangle to the opposite side is called the altitude of the triangle, and it creates a right angle with the side it intersects.
5. The point of intersection of the three altitudes of a triangle is called the orthocenter.
6. The point of intersection of the three medians (line segments connecting each vertex and the midpoint of the opposite side) is called the centroid.

These are some basic concepts related to triangles, but there is much more to explore in the world of triangle geometry!
