scalene triangle
A triangle with no equal sides
A scalene triangle is a type of triangle that has three sides of different lengths and three angles of different measures. In other words, no two sides or angles are equal in a scalene triangle.
Properties of a Scalene Triangle:
1. All three sides of a scalene triangle are of different lengths.
2. All three interior angles of a scalene triangle are of different measures.
3. The sum of the angles of a scalene triangle is 180 degrees.
4. The longest side is always opposite to the largest angle, and the shortest side is always opposite to the smallest angle.
5. The three altitudes of a scalene triangle are of different lengths, and they all intersect at a point within the triangle called the orthocenter.
6. The three medians of a scalene triangle intersect at a point within the triangle called the centroid.
Examples of Scalene Triangles:
1. A triangle with side lengths 6 cm, 8 cm, and 10 cm is a scalene triangle.
2. A triangle with angles measuring 30 degrees, 60 degrees, and 90 degrees is a scalene triangle.
3. A triangle with one side measuring 5 cm, one side measuring 7 cm, and one side measuring 9 cm is a scalene triangle.
