Hypothesis
The If part of a conditional statement.
A hypothesis is a statement or assumption that proposes a potential explanation for a phenomenon or an event. It is an educated guess or a tentative explanation that is yet to be tested, analyzed, and verified through scientific research. A hypothesis usually states an expected relationship between variables and can be either a null hypothesis or an alternative hypothesis. A null hypothesis assumes that there is no significant relationship between variables while an alternative hypothesis assumes that there is a significant relationship between variables. Hypotheses are important in the scientific method as they help researchers to make predictions, design experiments, collect and analyze data, and draw conclusions.
