WPA stands for Wi-Fi Protected Access. It is a security standard for wireless networks that was developed to replace the less secure Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) protocol. WPA provides more secure encryption and authentication methods that make it much more difficult for unauthorized users to access a Wi-Fi network.
There are two types of WPA: WPA and WPA2. WPA was introduced in 2003, while WPA2 was introduced in 2004. WPA2 is more secure than WPA because it uses a stronger encryption algorithm called Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) that is much more difficult to hack.
WPA2 is currently the most widely used security protocol for Wi-Fi networks. It is recommended that users choose WPA2 when setting up a Wi-Fi network in order to protect their data and prevent unauthorized access to their network.
