The sum of the sequence can be represented as:

Σ (n) where n = 1 to 5

In this notation, “n” is the index variable that takes on each value in the sequence starting from 1 and ending at 5. And the expression to be summed is simply “n”.

To calculate the actual sum, we substitute the values of “n” from the starting value to the ending value and add up the corresponding terms. In this case, it would be:

Σ (n) = 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 = 15

Sigma notation is especially useful when dealing with large sequences or series, as it allows us to write a single concise formula instead of listing out each term individually. It is frequently used in various areas of mathematics, including calculus and mathematical analysis.
