Therefore, people with type 1 diabetes have low levels of both insulin and C-peptide in their bloodstream. In contrast, people with type 2 diabetes have high levels of insulin and C-peptide in their bloodstream due to insulin resistance, which makes it difficult for the body to use insulin effectively.
