Trachea splits and plunges into the lungs… splits into what?
Splits into R and L 1 degree bronchi, 1 degree bronchi split into 2 degree bronchi, split into 3 degree bronchi, once past 3 degree bronchi, they split in bronchioles
The trachea is also known as the windpipe, which is a tube-shaped structure that allows air to pass into and out of the lungs. At its lower end, the trachea splits into two smaller tubes called bronchi. Each bronchus then enters one of the lungs, branching off into smaller and smaller tubes called bronchioles, which eventually lead to the alveoli – tiny air sacs where oxygen and carbon dioxide are exchanged between the air and the bloodstream during respiration.
