The two main types of cells are:
1. Prokaryotic cells: These cells are relatively small, simple in structure, and do not have a nucleus. The genetic material in prokaryotic cells is located in the cytoplasm. These cells are found in bacteria and archaea.
2. Eukaryotic cells: These cells are larger and more complex than prokaryotic cells. They have a nucleus which contains genetic material, surrounded by a membrane. Eukaryotic cells also have other membrane-bound organelles such as mitochondria, ribosomes, endoplasmic reticulum, and Golgi apparatus. These cells are found in plants, animals, and fungi.
