Ethnocentrism is the tendency to view one’s own cultural group or cultural practices as superior or more important than the others. It is a bias that is often based on the assumption that one’s own cultural norms, values, and beliefs are the standard against which others must be judged.

Ethnocentrism can have harmful effects on individuals, groups, and societies, as it can lead to discrimination, prejudice, and even violence against those who are perceived as different. It can also hinder communication and understanding between different cultures, making it difficult to establish harmonious relationships and promote cultural diversity.
