Fascism is a political ideology that believes in a strong, centralized government led by a dictator who has absolute power over the citizens. Fascism prioritizes the nation or ethnic group over the individual and demands strict obedience to the leader and the state. It is often characterized by extreme nationalism, aggressive military expansionism, and the suppression of political opposition and individual freedoms. Fascist regimes often employ propaganda, censorship, and state-controlled media to maintain control over the population. The term “fascism” was first used to describe the Italian government under Benito Mussolini in the 1920s and has since been associated with other authoritarian regimes, such as Nazi Germany under Adolf Hitler.
